2000 4 door Blazer gauges.
I bought this car three weeks ago and it works just fine minus one problem. I replace the battery because it was faulty battery but now the instrument cluster isn't turning on. The only thing I see is the oil temperature and the battery gauge. Nothing else seems to turn on. I checked the fuses for the instrument panel and they're fine I'm just wondering if I have to replace the whole panel now or if there's something I just completely missed. I'm not at all a car person and unfortunately I'm on a fixed income so if I can fix this without having to buy anything else that would be great. Thanks for all the help!
When the vehicle is running: with an open palm, firmly smack the top of the dash directly above the center of the cluster. If the gauges come back on, or some of the warning lights blink, there are poor solder connections on the printed circuit board inside the cluster. It will require removing the cluster, disassembling it, and re-flow the 24 solder joints on the printed circuit board connector. Must use a low wattage (30 to 40 watt) soldering pencil, (NOT a gun) and lead/tin rosin core solder, (NOT acid core solder).

There are great posts here on that problem, use the search button, grab a beer, and start reading. I had may cluster out about a dozen times before I got it straighten out. FYI the mileage is stored in the cluster.
So wait that means if I get a new one it will say 0 miles?
