Default 2001 blazer xtreme - how to turn off stock alarm without key fob, with valet button?

Hey guys, I can REALLY use some help here! I apologize if this isn't the right place. I tried general tech and that isn't accepting new posts.

I have a 2001 Blazer Xtreme. I picked it up in '04 so I ASSUME it's a stock alarm but I don't know for sure. I just know it beeps, honks, howls, etc when it goes off. However when I googled the alarm key fob for my blazer it showed the correct stock one. The only reason I'm not sure is because I thought I read where they do not come stock on blazers?

My issue is this. Programming my alarm remote is hit and miss. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't (hold unlock, turn key to on/off 2x, let go of unlock). It turns on the alarm but sometimes the key fob doesn't register the programming (holding unlock and lock for 10-20 secs). Right now, it's not programmed and that is exactly what I was trying to do. However, if it doesn't work I'm stuck sitting in my truck with the alarm on, which goes off when I open the door, etc.

Are you able to tell me the steps needed to turn OFF the alarm using the valet button? I eventually get it off but that's after freaking out, opening the door, unlocking, locking a bunch, holding down the valet switch, pushing it a bunch of times, etc. I have no idea the exact method that is supposed to be used?

thank you VERY much in advance!

So on the mom's jimmy, if you turn the key, in the drivers door key hole, twice to unlock( I want to say), it shuts it off.

If you unplug the horn, at least you won't have to listen to it, lol.

I thought using the valet switch in some sequence was something that only I didn't know how to do, but maybe not. Unplugging it, actually I was thinking about that last night, lol. I just have to figure out which fuse it runs off of, or some way of unplugging it without cutting the wires.

There should be a connector under the hood, right at the horn(s). I moved mine, so I don't remember exactly where it was. Sorry.
