Question 2021 Blazer electric parking brake problem

I am intermittently discovering the electric parking brake set on vehicle start up. The manual states the vehicle is supposed to do some random checks of setting the parking brake but this appears to be happening way too often. I've had it happen on 3 out 4 starts in a 3 hour period, sometimes 4 times in a day, sometimes 5 days with nothing and then several times again. It is rare, but I have occasionally heard the brake operate and set when I walk up to the vehicle with the remote in my pocket and
several times have heard it set when I press the button on the door handle to unlock the car. However, those instances are very infrequent. Dealer is unable to find or duplicate a failure and just refers me to statement in manual. I just think it happens way to frequently to be a "random operation check". Any one else having this problem or know a solution ????

I am having the same exact issue and my dealership can not fix the problem...it happens the exact way you're explaining it to me as well and just as frequent.

Due to the way newer vehicles are there really is no way to know whats going on with it, could be software within the computer(s) or a faulty computer all together, not much to be done i think.

I have the exact same problem. I have since day two. I had to pull out the manual to find the electronic brake so I could turn it off. I thought maybe I bumped it with my knee when I got out but soon realized it just randomly comes on. Sometimes 4 times in a day. Sometimes none. I haven't been able to find a pattern.

how did you "turn brake off" , pull a fuse ? I assume turning it off did not cause any other issue ?

This is one of the reasons I like having a 18 year old Blazer with manual parking brakes.

Default Update on Parking brake problem

Just an update on status. Dealership has been unable to resolve problem and pretty much given up. The GM Phone Line has not been very helpful - basically says they will "facillitate" but it is the Dealership that has the Techs to fix the problem. The Dealership says their Techs are stumped and they need Factory/Engineer/Corporate help. Both sides pointing at each other and nothing happens. Interestingly though, since the weather has gotten colder from November to mid-January the intermittent problem frequency has greatly decreased. Since it dropped below 20 def F for several days, it has not happened at all ! I obtained the vehicle in February and didn't start noticing
the annoying frequency until mid-April. Bottom line, it appears the problem is ambient temperature related......

Ambient Temp Probe backfeeding the E-brake set computer data line or dry 12v/5v circuit? thats certainly odd.

My 2021 Blazer also randomly sets the ebrake on it's own. This is a safety issue that should result in a recall. Don't know how many times I've hopped in, started the vehicle, put it in reverse, gave it the gas and then find out the ebrake is set even though I never set it! I usually have to gun it before I realize the ebrake is on!
Every time it does this it also shuts off my cruise control!
