94 GMC Jimmy power seat not moving forward or back

my power seat doesn't move forward or back the motor makes a noise and sounds like its all the way back and won't go any further a clicking noise does this for both forward and back any ideas what I can do for it they don't make a motor for it anymore. It will move if you pull it forward or push it back while using the switch

Sounds like some greasing needs to be done

Wire shortened so it always turns same direction?

Check wiring then mechanical linkage.
Motor turning and clicking is what it normally does in one of the end positions.

What made me think something needs to be greased (or the motor is weak) is the fact that it will move when it is assisted with a hand.

What I found with my '95 was that fore/aft drive cable had broken loose from the rack/pinion housing that it (the cable) snaps into. This cable resembles a speedo cable btw. The problem with the above issue is that the seat frame and fore/aft adjustment drive motor/drive cable components are assembled and then riveted together (which means that whole system is basically 'non-serviceable'. Snapping/plugging the cable back into the rack/pinion drive housing was not possible for me due to the length of the exposed end of the cable (which is square in shape). So, I had to die grind about 3/16 of an inch off the end of the drive cable in order to just barely get it to snap it back into place. The seat has worked just fine since then. You should, of course, clean and lube the rack and pinion parts while you're under that seat no matter what.
