95 Blazer 4.3 Vortec no check eng. light?
 

OK i took the newly acquired 95 Blazer 4.3 Vortec in for the smog check and it passed ok except it failed the visual because there is no check light working? (does not light up at all)? i removed the speedo cluster and replaced the bulb and still does not work? i also scanned it for codes and there is none. any help would be very appreciated!!

anyway to check the voltage at the light while the cluster is out ? If you can and there's no voltage, all MIL lights have an in-line fuse from the light to the ignition switch. Some have the fuse at the fuse box but most are solder on the cluster board itself which makes it a no fix. Follow the circuit from the light to where ever it goes and see if you can't find the fuse or a fried component. You can solder a small wire straight across just to get the light working so you can get your inspection, deal with a new cluster later.....
