97 Blazer electrical problems

Default 97 Blazer electrical problems

I have a 97 blazer that has a bad fuel gauge, even after I replaced the fuel pump. Also my power windows work even if the switch is not on.Last my a/c is also able to turn on even if the switch is not on.I anyone could help out I would appreciate it.

Concerning the fuel gauge, a continuity test on the wire from the sending unit in the tank to the PCM is in order. While not 100% applicable to your truck, the 98+ Fuel Gauge Diagnosis thread may give you some ideas on what else to check.

What switch are you talking about with the windows?

The A/C compressor can come on when one of the windshield defrost modes is selected. The A/C system will remove moisture from the air which will decrease the amount of time it takes to remove the condensation from the windshield.

Well my power windows are not suppose to work unless the switch is on, but they do. As for the A/C i can turn on the blower without having the switch on, which is not suppose to be able to.

I find that the more I assume, the more people creatively name things that lead to an incorrect assumption. So I try not to assume and just ask.
