blazer interior light
1989 blazer with two swivel overhead lights not working. i took fixture off conections were good. it has a white and yellow wire going to it. i think the yellow is power and white is ground. heres the mystry when i went to screw fixture back in i was pushing on the screw with screw driver to get it seated , i left the switch in the on position.as i pushed the screw to seat it it was coming in contact with the bare metal over head and the light was now on . thinking it was a ground prblem i connected a piece of wire from the light housing to a bare metal ground to check but it didn't light. . theres a yellow wire coming out the left panel by the emergency pedal that connects to brown wire .the brown wire goes up behind the fuse box. any idea what the problem might be ?
Not familiar with the 89 K but if there's a dome lite AND those swivels then it seems to me they are map lites and should have individual switches.
If no other dome light or switches then they are working properly now.
Teh original problem is that you asked opinion based on wire color alone, didnt bother testing for power or ground on any or look for a connection from the mounting screw hole to bulb power terminal thus we dont know if it should have lit or not.
There are no stupid questions... only vague ones.
