Extra DIC after overhead console upgrade
 

So last week I went to my local JY and got an DIC (driver information center) to upgrade my compass/and temp that I had in my 2001 LT. Well got home and wired it up and it worked but after 10 sec it would blank out.So checked all the connections and saw they were all good so I went back to the yard and got another, the second works like a charm and I couldn't be happier with it.

Now knowing all this and knowing that my blazer is a 2001 4dr 4wd LT. Does anyone know enough about these to say whether the extra one I have is bad or is it just out of a model year that isn't compatible with my OBDII? I can plug it back in right now and it will work for 10 seconds and then blanks.

At first I thought having 2 DICs would be cool, but judging from your experience and having a limited imagination, I can't imagine what I would do with more than one.
