Help - Led basket lights
I am planning to get a basket and some led pods to go on the Blazer. The pods are going to be attached to the basket with two facing the rear and one on each side for side lighting while I'm out camping or what-not. I picked up a on-off-on switch from Advance the other day and a couple relays, which I'm not totally sure if I'll need to use since the amperage for the lights will be pretty low, but what I want to happen is for the back lights only to turn on when the switch is in one direction, and for all four lights to turn on when in the other direction. The problem I'm foreseeing is that when I flip the switch to turn on the back lights only the wire will still carry the current to the side lights. Any ideas or help would be appreciated!

I did some more research after posting this, would a diode be able to solve my problem? that way when I turn on the switch for only the back lights it restricts the flow from going back to the side lights?

I would use a single 3 position double pole switch meaning 2 terminals in each position. You would have your power feed coming to the center poles with power out to the rear only on one direction and power out to both side and rear the other direction. I wouldn't bother with relays on LEDs, just makes things more cluttered.

A double pole tripple throw, if you want the switch to have an off.
single pole double throw if you use a remote off LEDs are diode s hence the name. |
to keep it simple just put in 2 switches
