HID Help

I just ordered the 9006 low beam HID kit from HIDextra. Looks like a quality kit, and better quality of HID kits I've installed on my Mustangs. I plugged everything in exactly how it should be, but I can't get them to fire up. I've installed HID kids before, so its not like I have no idea what I'm doing. No matter what I did, I couldn't get the lights to turn on. I put the stock lights back in so I can drive, but I'm pretty disappointed.

Is there some secret to getting these to work on a 96 Blazer?

I posted a pic below so you don't think I'm crazy.

Did you flip the polarity?? So flip the plug that has the braided sleeve on it 180* i believe. If it still doesnt work call them and get a new one. You also have to have both of them plugged in at the same time or else there will be a power issue, If you only have one plugged in.

Thanks for the reply. I will try flipping the polarity. I've heard of that being an issue, but didn't think of it at the time.

Also, what do you mean both at the same time? Both drive and passenger HID's have to be plugged in?

Yeah thats what i meant, but i just remembered thats wrong. If only one is plugged in it should work unless you have a short which is what i had and why it didnt work.

hook the ballest to the battery using the black and red wire that you plug into your harness if they turn on then the hid isnt the problem. i always do that when before installing hids in vehicles. because there is that rare chance that the ballest or bulb that the place you bought it from sent you a blown ballest or bulb.

I reversed the polarity by plugging the the power line into the ballast backwards. Odd, but works.

Thanks for the help!

I tested them out. 5000k HID's really light up the street!
