high pitch noise?

Ok. I honestly don't know what section this should be in. I'm not very knowledgeable about vehicles yet, because my blazer is my first. I'm guessing it's an elevtrical problem, but I have no idea. My blazer makes a high pitch noise, which sounds like it's coming from the dash. The noise gets higher as I push the gas pedal closer to the floor. Does anyone have any idea what that could be? It also gets louder wjen I turn the radio on, which is why I think it's electrical.

That sounds like engine while through your speakers.
Sounds like a ground loop (even if you have a good ground to your stereo, Try pulling the radio, and grounding it to a different location, to give it a better ground) should solve the problem.

Ok, thank you! I am going to be getting an aftermarket HU eventually, so I might just wait till then.

Sounds good, but grounding it at a new location is really simple, Just find the ground wire coming off your current HU (black) and then splice into that with a new wire, find a good mounting point in the dash, or under the dash, a good solid, clean metal, and screw it down, maybe some dialect grease.

tip can be used for both your current and after market

Thank you for the tip. I know a little about wiring cause I did roofing/siding/ pretty much any house construction 2 summers ago for a summer job while out of school, and I wired lights up. But I've only wired speakers into my car so they're different. Would I need a new wire or could I unscrew the old ground from the dash and just screw it somewhere else?

I honestly would splice into the wire as close to the radio as possible and run a new wire, you can either splice into it so that you keep your other ground, as well as have a new one. could help even more.

Oh i see. Yeah, I'll probably just do the splice then. Thanks a lot! You were very helpful. After I do it I'll post whether or not it fixed the noise.

No problem. Hope it works.
