LED in marker/signal lights giving issues...

2004 Blazer LS 4x4 4 door. So I put some 3157 and 194 amber LED's in the marker lights in the headlight assemblies, as well as in the marker/turn signal under the headlight. I did the modification to the flasher so that they don't flash fast or anything, so that's not my issue. The issue I'm having is one I've never seen before... But from messing with the headlights, I know GM WAY overcomplicated the wiring for these trucks, so maybe that's my issue...

What's happening is when I turn on the running lights (or headlights since the running lights are on with them...), all of the lights come on, but they're only getting 6v (tested with a meter) and are all lighting up dim. The turn signal works fine oddly enough, when the signal flashes the bulbs get full 12v and light up at full brightness. Also, with the running lights on, the signal indicators in the cluster light up dimly as well, as if a bulb is burnt out and the truck is trying to let me know :P

Now I know this is just because the LED's have less resistance than standard bulbs, same reason the flasher modification is necessary. Any body ever ran into this before on these trucks? Any fix for it? Only thing I can think of doing is splicing into the wiring and adding in dummy plugs and putting regular bulbs in them and just blacking them out somehow and hiding them in the core support, so the truck still sees regular bulbs in the system... but there's GOT to be an easier way...

Thanks :)

LEDs have more resistance and will not work in reverse polarity, hence the diode name. I'm not at a schematic now but I seem to remember series to parallel switch for DTRL. Hope that helps.

hmmm...

well I can't be the first to try and put LED's in all the front of these trucks, so this has got to have been ran into before lol

I know this is old but I'm running into the same issue with my 2000 Blazer.
