If they're rebuilding them anyway can't they calibrate the mileage to whatever your mileage is?

Even if they don't give you your original cluster back if they can calibrate everything else in the durn thing you'd think they could fiddle with the mileage.

 

If they rebuild my original one the mileage stays the same I just have a few questions for them

 

oh goody today i went out for a ride and i decided to use my horn since someone decided to cut me off the horn didnt work and made the radio go crazy

I pulled over checked the fuses and the horn fuse was hot and melted it didnt blow

any ways i decided to put a 10 amp the original was a 20 the 10 amp started to heat up also

TIME TO Dig into the dash can my luck get any more f***ed up


Edit Im getting 12 volts in the fuse box when i insert the fuse it sparks . can the cluster be causing this ? also where is the horn relay ?


Edit: I found the relay and its not that i checked the cig lighter and its not that either

looked under the hood every thing looks fine . Can the cluster be causing this ? if i remove it would the truck be drivable ? till i get a replacement

Ok guys i found the problem the cluster was shorting out the horn dome lights radio and my rear hatch i took the cluster out and now it starts with out a cluster but hooray for the fix and no fires Now for the funds for the replacement

 

yikes. Mine never did that. it just died. I drove around without a cluster for a while. BUT if i were you,id put it back in,just dont plug it on. if you get pulled over and a cop sees you without a speedometer you may get a ticket for it.

 

eh we will see i wont be going any where since im not working any more ill see what i can do monday


Edit: even if he pulled me over the speedos black i think they still can give me a ticket lol any i got my moms Yukon its gonna be a speeding ticket if i get pulled over LOL gotta love a v8 vortec

 

They cant give you a ticket for it when the engines not running,turn it off before he gets to the window!

 

ok guys i got my cluster fixed

but the horn fuse is still melting is there a short somewhere ? it wont blow but it gets hot i did try putting a weaker fuse and it still wont blow . When i insert the fuse it sparks brightly

I have no radio domelights horn rear hatch lock release i dont know what else is connected to this line but im lost

 

sure sounds like a short or a loose wire.

 

turned out to be my stupid alarm my uncle got installed when he owned it



any ways i cut the alarm off yay for no more alarm

 

good deal. Now you can actually drive the durn thing.
