Power window lock problem (Among others, but will start here 😬)
Hi
so I’ve worked on cars pretty much my whole life just when things broke down on my own cars. But recently I have found a new love and hobby of actually like working on cars. I bought a 1984 Chevy S-10 blazer for a really good price. It runs and drives great. But the windows don’t roll up or down. The fuse to the power windows is good. I changed out the passenger side window switch, nothing. I haven’t changed out the master switch yet because I have to order it. 1984 Chevy S10 Blazer
Just for some additional information the windshield wipers don’t work either which could mean an electrical issue? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
While I haven't done this in an s10, when the window quit moving in my folk's suburban, I unplugged the cable from the window motor and measured the voltage at the cable leading to the motor. We were getting + & - 12V to the motor when using the window switch, so it was a motor issue. If you get yourself a multimeter, and work backwards from the window motor, you should be able to find it in no time.
