Default push button ignition possibility

I have a 97 4x4 blazer automatic with an ignition switch that is bad. Since it is known for going bad I want to know if it is possible to rewire the ignition leads and make a push button for each function (acc, off, run, start) or install some type of toggle setup with a push button start?

I am very interested in making this truck run off as little electronics as possible. Except for engine performance sensors of course. I have heard that it may be possible to run other electronics from a separate fuse box of my own. Any insight would be greatly appreciated as I continue to search this forum.

Nothing is impossible, it's just how much do want to spend. With the right switches and good place to put them it should just be a matter of getting a wire diagram of the ignition system to which wires to cut and reconnect.
