question regarding headlight mod

I've done some searching for the headlight mod where all lights are on when hi beams are on and i'm wondering if it is possible to this mod without cutting wires? I'm a member on duramaxforum.com and this is the thread to the mod for those trucks.

Is this possible to do with our trucks?

Have you used the Search function for thread titles containing "quad beam mod"? It pulls up 7 threads that may help.

I know that Painless wiring does a kit for that, you got to get the right one if your drl's are the high or the low.

i did it a couple weeks ago on my 98 blazer. (DRL are high beam at 50% power)

at first, i just grounded the yellow wire on the driver side to the core support.
it works but it messes with you AHL and DRL. i wanted to keep both.

so, i redid it with a simple relay. took me about 15 mins and my headlights are operating like stock but with the flip of a switch i have quad beams.

I dont want to run a seperate switch and if the headlights are not near as bright as they are now then I don't want to do this mod.

i think you dont understand.

if your truck have low beam DRL, i cant help you.
if your truck have high beam DRL, you just have to ground the yellow wire on the driver side.

but, doing this will make your low beams to be DRL.
your AHL will be disabled, because low beams will always be on.

a simple switch and a relay will cure this problem, maintaining the stock functions on DRL and AHL, and will allow you during the night to flip a switch and have quad beams.

I guess I did understand you wrong.. I dont know what my DRL are right now, I put HIDs in them the day I got my blazer. For some reason I do remember my DRL being my high beam though but my buddy also had an 01 blazer so I might be thinking of his.

Quad Beam Mod Using Relays.. & How To Convert Polarity For Switched (-) High Beam

See attached photo.. i put together a diagram i use on all my installs.. Also in the diagram, how to switch polarity from (-) to + using a relay for those of you who have a (-) switched wire to activate high beams. (I assume should be most if not all of the blazers, s10s, jimmys, bravads, and sonomas) Hope this helps everyone! This is a great and safe way to wire it up if you plan on wiring in all hids!
