replaced engine, fuel gauge wont work now.

Tried searching this issue on here but phone wigs out. Sorry if this has been covered.

I rebuilt the engine in my 99 zr2 and put it back in. Runs and drives great but now my fuel gauge wont work. I had a CEL on for an oxygeb sensor that i forgot. Noticed when i cleared it with my obd2 scanner it jumped to full and back. So i believe gauge itself still works. Might i have missed a ground wire to the head or something? I remember attaching several on both sides. 2 or 3 on pass and i think 2 on driver. If thats the case, can i get into the harness from the pump and make my own ground to the frame somewhere? There is zero chance of me getting my hands back in there to search and attach the ground if thats what i missed.

I did break the purge valve on the intake and replaced it with a bwd piece. Is it tied into gauge for some strange reason?

I`m no pro but dont see why a separate ground wouldnt work. Thin wires are fuel sender, thick wires are for the pump

I dont think that replacing an engine would affect the gas gauge. The sending unit in the tank runs directly to the dash gauge. Is it reading empty or full? Usually full means that a ground is missing or not plugged in. The sending unit itself could be bad as well.
