speedo and fuel gauges bouncing.

My dads 92' is having issues with the 2 gauges. First it was just the speedo. I figured it was the sensor, but now my brothers saying the fuel gauge is doing it too now. Im not sure yet on that part as i rarely drive it. Any ideas? its the old analog cluster.

Grounds? the signal sent to the analog cluster is still electronic, I would check grounds first?

Id have to find what grounds are used etc. Isnt there a ground somewhere in the foot area on the driver side?

*waits for gio to come in and post info out of his awesome manual book he has*

I have a manual. WITH the actual electrical diagram, let me check it

*edit* damnit, electrical diagram is in the back seat of the jimmy and the girlfriend has it, I will look when she is home.

*second edit*
Found a diagram in my service manual too. The ground is located on the drivers side near the parking break, Here are a couple photos (#103)

Yeah, its on the underside of the dash, up near where you unhook the cable from the parking brake

Different symptoms, but might help.

richphotos 11-20-2012 06:10 PM

yup, seems like it could fix it, just above the e-brake pedal is the main ground for the cluster.
