Default Starting problem!

Ok for the past week I've been rebuilding my gf 2.8l motor in her 87 s10 blazer! Finally finished after a couple hours each day! I repaired the wiring harness where there were some old wires! Got the motor in and everything hooked up and it won't start! The starter has 12 v constant but the little wire doesn't get any power when u turn it over... I swapped the relay and still nothing. We tryed jumping it and nothing! I'm stumped!

do a bench test of the starter first
double check your grounds, loose, cracked wires connectors
