Default Temp Control fan switch

I have a 97 Blazer. I turned on the defrosters, and when I turned on the fan, I got smoke coming out from behind the fan switch. I ordered another temp control unit, and when I put it in I got another smoke puff. I took them both apart and found a small plastic piece that holds the contact aganist the contact point had the small clips broken off both the used one and the new used one I bought. I can't find another one anywhere. Does anyone know if there is one that can be used from another model?

First things first. you tried 2 and saw smoke both times. Did you see anything melted or burnt? Did the smoke smell like burning wires?

You can always try using electrical tape to hold it in place if you think that the smoke is coming from an arc when the plug is not seated properly.
