Sup guys, been a bit a?

So for a while now my voltage meter has been jumping around while driving and it causes the truck to sorta have power fluctuation such as all of the lights dim, it kinda sounds like a car with a after market cam shaft, has that bloop bloop sound if you know what i mean..

This all started after i changed the alternator so im guessing its faulty, but before i buy a new one i wanted to ask a question, do you think it could be anything else? also is this part that is circled in this image supposed to move back and forth? it moved along with the bloop bloop power fluctuation. it sorta clicks back and forth.

does this make any sense? hahaha

thats your tensioner. As the engine revs up and down it can move,which is totally normal.

Put a cheap volt meter to the battery,it needs to ready at least 13v+ If its jumping around like mad,id say the regulator in the alts bad.

yeah even the one that was going out before didnt do this, i procrastinated tho so i doubt autozone is going to give me store credit to get the more expensive one, this was like 80 bucks the cheapest they had, but i only had 80 bucks so i had no choice..

How long did you procrastinate for? Even there cheapest comes with a year.

warrenty on the alternator is good until feb so autozone says so thats good news. :)

you should check that tensioner. they are suppose to move which is normal. but if they move a lot, you might need to replace it and the belt. i just had to do one on a 2.2 s-10. the tensioner wheel gets worn for some reason and then it starts to eat the belt. all you have to do is look at it and you will be able to tell. it should look the same all the way around. if you have any flat spots or it is out-of-round, i would replace it!

Put in a new alternator, fixed the problem.

On to the 02 sensor.
