Windows stopped working.
This is on my dads 2 door 92'
Before we tried replacing the main window switch on drivers side he took his multimeter and tested it. Seems fine. I do remember for a little while that if you were to press the button to roll it down or up while slowing opening the door,it would work in a certain spot. now that doesnt do it at all. is there a ground wire in the door somewhere? where? I removed the panel and didnt see anything. I know its gotta be wire issues.
Also, his power locks dont work either....mine doesnt work as well lol..
Is the driver side lock button the same way as the window when it comes to being the main switch?

GM had issues with the egress hole through the pillar. Pull the kick panel and the harness boot and look close where they go through the door frame. Then do a tug test of the harness all the way up to the IP fuse block {if there is} or nearest harness block connector.
And you check voltage from lock switch to frame ground. Then black wire to gnd on lock switch while operating switch. Should be no voltage while operating sw.

you were right! +1 point to you.
Issue now is how can i fix it? I picked up some butt connectors. The black wire,(ground) and the blue and white wire for the door locks were broken. Only about 1" of each is available to work with on the cab side of the pillar. I hooked em back up for testing and his windows AND locks now work. Also noticed someone else already cut the rivets and replaced the window motor on the drivers side. Cool.
But like i said, how can i go about wire routing? Im a big guy,and my hands are in the way,as well as that rubber grommet. I was thinking about slicing a small slit in the grommet on each end,and repairing the 2 wires outside of the grommet, then electrical tape it all up and pop the grommet ends back in place.

Pull the connector off the harness at underdash end to give you room to pull it through pillar. Pull the bellows off the pillar end and push toward door clamp it back with one of the sliding bar claps if you have one.. mind those tender wires
Pull enough through to make it comfortable to work.
