directly from the OP's second link:

This man's name is Calvin Vincent, and he has a 1977 model Chevy truck. His truck has a little over 2 MILLION miles on it. This is what he said," I bought this truck new in 1978 at Mayville Motor Company in Mayville, North Dakota. I have used it in my construction business ever since then. This truck has pulled equipment on construction trailers, and has been a work horse for the last 29 years. The transmission was replaced once, and the short block twice, but most of this truck is still original. I still use it everyday. I have had a long-lasting and rewarding experience with my Chevrolet. Thanks Chevy."

yea the transmission and BLOCK are not original, but everything else is, still only replacing the block twice in 2 million miles and the tranny once aint bad at all

dang, I'm way behind you guys. I've only got like 1000 miles on my 383, chassis has like 158,000... but most everything has been replaces, shocks, tranny, etc...
on my '79 C-10 though, has like 200,000 miles on the chassis and rebuild transmission, new motor in it. Suspension, shocks, glass, everything is still from '79... even the spare tire hasn't ben replaced since '79.

i just decided to calculate what that guy drove per year
2048402/29=70634.6 miles per year
saying that truck got 16 mpg
2048402/16=128025.125 gallons of gas run through that engine
saying that gas has been an average of 2 bucks a gallon (i know this isnt accurate)
128025.125x2=236050.25 bucks spent on gasoline alone
so he spent
236050.25/29=8829.3 dollars on gas per year

sorry for all the math lol, i was in the mood

and I'm sittin' on 172k on my 2000. With 60 miles daily I should hit 1 million around 2047... hopefuly they discover oil in my back yard and a very friendly mechanic moves in next door...
