30,000 to 300,00 pythons in southern Florida????

There are quite a few guys from Florida on this sight.............I want to ask if the show that i just watched on the animal planet is true or just another bunch of BS..........it seems to me that if there were that many snakes.......they would be in everyone's pools by now.......

So what is the real story.....

That is a very large gap between 30,000 and 300,000

just quoting what was said on the documentary........that's what makes me wonder about whether the story is just more sensational BS that we get fed every day..........so I thought i would ask someone who lives there.........

I guess there aren't any here who live in southern FL ............to say if there are 30000 or 300000 pythons ???

I did not mean that bad against you. Sorry if it came off that way.

I would guess 30,000 to 300,000 is just a blind estimate since they really have no way to find out the exact numbers.

I can say, through my photography I know a lot of people who live in FL (Miami, ft. lauderdale) that regularly see pythons. I even remember seeing a few episodes of the TV show cops where they had to remove large and small pythons from peoples yards or houses. Let a few out and they find their way to mate, population expands a lot.

hmmmm........well this is the last year for the alligator hunters............maybe the Landry crew should see if python hide sells............;-)

Python hyde would definitely sell, sells for a good bit of money too depending on the quality.
