Air horns? anyone got one on their ride?
Just curious as to different ways to get them.
$300 for the kits...seems a little ridiculous! Would $20 airhorn kits from autozone work to use the motor from them, and then just get the train horns themselves and nothing else? I bet I can find some old train horns around here for cheap (trains always going through town) |
I've been thinking about getting one. I'm sure you could throw a kit together. You just need an air tank, air compressor, the horn, and plumbing. It wouldn't be too hard.

I have an electric set there louder then stocks but i plan to get an expensive set in the future

i have an old boat horn. its an afi air horn. i got the horn for free and just paid for the air lines and the air tank. it sounds great at about 120-90 psi but after that it just sounds like a really high pitched horn. kind of annoying, but still loud. i think the horn is rated for something like 120 dB. if you buy the horn i think it cost somewhere around 120
