Got a 46 knucklehead I've been toying with since I was a teen. All chopper but it sits in the back of my shop until I need to work on something to cool me off. I ever got done with it I doubt I'd know what to do.

I'd like to get my hands on a indian scout that's a basket case to make a chopper out of.

1sttimejimmyowner 01-11-2013 08:27 AM

Neo you should make a trip up north

or over here to michigan.I have been seeing alot of old Indian motorcycles forsale on our local CL.Id like to have one of those also but after the night mare of not being able to find parts for my enduro I gave up.2 years os searching for staor or cdi box I gave up wanted something to ride right away then I found my yamaha XS400 for $400.Talked the guy down and rode it all sumer till mid december.

Yall keep the t-stat turned down too low up there.

One thing I've noticed on bikes is its easy to find parts for old HD and indians. The aftermarket for ricers isn't as great. Got a buddy who has a 86 silverwing and he gets mad cause I can find parts easier and cheaper for my 46.

1990 cbr600 f1. Affectionately known as "Frankenbike" because of the usage of zip ties to hold the plastics together

My classics are:
1971 Honda CB350
1979 BMW R100RT

The bike I typically ride around though is my 2002 Harley-Davidson Nighttrain. It gets about 45mpg and makes up for the blazer's horrible gas mileage haha.:icon_moped:

Since Im close to being middleaged and riding for the 1st time this my yamaha was a great bike to learn with.Dont know if im going to keep it or not.If I find a good deal on something a bit faster and newer and I got the cash at the time Im hoping to get something better.Been around harleys all my life yet Im not ahasmed to ride my rice burner or another one.

Here's some pictures of my restored bikes. For those of you who need parts and can't find them where you live drop me a pm, I have several sources here in the states and over seas .. I also have many extra parts for Silverwings and Goldwings.

Can't beat an early model Goldwing for cruising and dependability.

Now why didnt we come across each others paths 2 years ago when i was looking for stator and flywheel for 74 360 yamaha enduro?.Thats why i gave up on it.After endless searches and only finding junk I gave up and sold it.

It's a shame we didn't as there are 2 vintage bike barns here in my area and I belong to several vintage bike clubs and can usually get hard to find parts fairly cheap from either source or many of the club members.

Here's my project:

https://blazerforum.com/forum/attach...ine=1358736584

1987 Kawasaki KZ 305 LTD. I've been wanting a Harley since I was 16, but getting married at 20 ate up all the savings. But my wife is a biker's daughter, so its just a matter of time before I have a Harley in my garage. Not like she doesn't approve! :D

This bike will do for now. I rode it stock for awhile, but its now being....modified. Bobber time!

1sttimejimmyowner 01-21-2013 06:56 AM

I grew up around old harleys, shovelheads, panheads, knuckleheads, sportste rs all of them I have no desire ot ever own one.I do want another bike though other than my xs400.Doesnt mater what brand or if its another jap bike or not.I just have a strong appeal to the older ones like 70`s and 80`s models. My next bike will be shaft drive though forsure.

AuSSenseiter 01-23-2013 05:41 PM

I myself have a '75 honda cb500 twin hardcore chopper basket case. Would like to get it rebuilt but thats a ways down the road. Now, my dad has a 70 electra glide (which WILL be mine when he pass'), a 63 & 66 Triumph Bonneville.
Not nearly "classic" but I have an '85 yamaha virago thats for sale.
