Automotive industry...
I was just sitting here thinking about how ass backwards it seems like
the automotive industry is.. Maybe its me but i wish cars would just revert to how they used to be.. When you open the hood of any new car its like a freaken jigsaw puzzle... It seems like they are trying to make every single component of a car as hard to fix your self as they possibly can.. And even more costly to have a shop fix... Btw this is all stemming from a Nissan i think it was commercial i just saw on tv,.. the lady gets in and there was a push start ignition in the dash.. And i just thought wow im sure you would have to take the entire dash off and some to fix that piece of crap when it breaks in 6 months.. I just wish cars would be how they where... I will never buy a car again in my life besides the 04 blazer i own that was made before 1979... random year i know. hehe Just some thoughts sorry if it comes off as bitchy and really has nothing to do with blazers until they make a new 1 and do a ****ty job in doing so.. Hehehe. :icon_couchhide: |

By modular I imply that if the assembly could be taken apart and reasembled easily in sections. So if the Blazer nameplate were to be produced who's to say engineering couldn't improve and result with a Blazer that most of us would buy? |

Holy big pic...lol.
Anyway, with new standards and new technology always arising stuff is bound to get more complicated. There's no way the industry could stand still with a 1970's style components and technology. It just wouldn't make sense in today's world. With that said however I do think certain vehicles on the road today just have far too many gizmo's and crazy sensors that are just begging to break and cost 100's of $$ to fix. Stuff like blind spot sensors, backup sensors, the sensors that beep when you drift out of the lane or are coming up on something to fast...the automatic parking cars and the list goes on. It's all just stuff begging to mess up. |
i think its ironic that car makers go to electric power
those cars are way too over priced for them to think it is going to save the environment no one will buy them because they are too expensive they complain about gas mileage when i went to the glada auto show today and there was a brand new dodge viper, with a v10 that got 22mpg on the highway when sedans with engines barley half as big get about 30 if they really wanted to, they could make those smaller engines get way more gas mileage or they should if they can get good gas mileage out of a v10 plus, why not go to diesel? alot less expensive then electric alot less maintenance and really good gas mileage there was a vw that got 67 mpg on the highway i think they should put diesels in cars and that would help lots with the gas mileage thing |
It's funny because electric cars actually do more harm to the environment then regular petrol cars. I forget the exact figures, but what it's surprising how much the production of a Prius ruins the environment. From the toxics in the battery to the way they ship parts from all over the world. I'll see if I can dig up the info on it...it's pretty interesting.

if they want gas mileage, performance, and convenience diesel is the way to go
