Check this stuff out...

Okay so Today right after getting home from being out and about. My chick friend is leaving and she calls us and tells us there are kids driving a Riding Lawn Mower around...

So Hubby and I open the front door to check it out. And sure enough there's this little 8-9ish year old kid driving a mower with a couple kids in a trailer behind it. The kid decides to flip a U-Turn halfway up the hill to head back home.

As he is turning I say to the hubby, "He's gonna hit that van, watch"

Sure enough that lawn mower couldn't make the turn and he slams into the van. The kids in the back start making "Hurry up lets get out of here" motions and the kid slams the thing in reverse, then runs away down the road back to daddy. I told hubby to go tell the owner of the van that it just got hit. Because I wasn't sure if the kids were gonna tell anyone.

Luckily they seemed to have only hit the tire... but that's not the point. The point is this d-bag of a parent with his sideways flat bill, oversized polo shirt and a beer in his hand, let his 8 year old son drive a friggin LAWN MOWER by himself.

I wish I had grabbed the camera and taped it.

at least no damage was done

it was sorta careless making him drive it in the street tho

I say imprision the parents at hard labor and throw the kids in military school until they graduate and then make them enlist in the Army.

Rotten little ba$Tard$!!!

Though, I would have done it at the age without even thinking twice about it...lol

Yep, that's the answer...blame and punish the child for the adult's lack of parenting skills. :icon_doh: A child of that age doesn't know any better and needs guidance. It sounds to me that perhaps some drug/alcohol counseling and parenting classes for the adult would be more appropriate.

But I bet you were actually taught, supervised and weren't driving on the street. And if not then you should have been. I used to sit in my dad's lap and steer when he mowed my grandma's yard.

The parent is definitely at fault here. If he had bothered to put his beer down and have the child sit in his lap and drive or even walk beside the mower, then it would have never happened.
