the dead battery

so how do you think i should go about finding a voltage drain on my camaro

Reading the battery & pulling fuses & checking the battery as you go. When you see the volts pop back up after pulling a fuse, then you have the circuit to trace.

Vehicle off & hit the fuse boxes with a meter... the one/s that shouldn't be drawing power (vehicle off) are suspect.
1st thing I'd look at are the alternator, starter - anything that is hooked up all the time directly to the battery.
Any new accesories?

I use these for testing stuff like that.

20 Amp Automotive Fuse Circuit Tester
30 Amp Automotive Fuse Circuit Tester

Some drains can stay on for a bit after shutting off the vehicle (radio, pcm, etc.), if you think you found the culprit then test again later to be sure.

A NOTE: I thought I had a drain killing my truck, turned out I had used a cheap aluminum contact distributor cap and it was taking so much juice to keep the engine running (too much resistance in spark plug circuits) that the battery could never get or keep a good charge. Put my OLD burned up (brass) distributor in and have had NO battery issues since. That stupid aluminum distributor killed TWO optimas ( 1 red, 1 yellow) before I figured out what it was! Good luck! Hope it helps.

well i just put a distributor cap on but its a acdelco and i had the problem before i did the tune up when i bought the car the battery was junk and alternator checks out fine however the ignition wire to the starter is all rigged and spliced but whatever the problem is it took a couple months to drain my new battery i went through the fuse box they all check out right acc not on unless ignition is on lights and so on have constant power like they are supposed to idk its a old car

Does this Camaro have an aftermarket sound system in it? Or any other aftermarket electronics for that matter? I would start there if you do. If not, like has been said before, check the fuse block.
