did i give my friend the right advice?

im not exactly sober, friend called he has a 98 astro van. He said he was driving and it died. lights and cluster was dim and had to be jump started for a few min to get 100 yards.

I told him his alt died and the motor ran his battery dead. now hes waiting for a friend of his to come jump him off again so he can get to his house.

im guessing thats about right. not exactly sure but it sounds like the issue.

In that case, the alt is the first thing that I'd check out.

Not exactly sober ere either though..

I am not sober either, man, we are a bunch of drunks, But I would guess that is his problem. Sounds like it was just running off the battery, I would tell your friend to have his buddy follow him cause i'm sure he will need more than one jump to get home if the battery is already dead
