Default First car?

Did a quick search of "First Car" to see if anyone already posted this, didn't find a consensus of replies, just a few here and there...

SO...

What was your first car? Always been a Chevy driver?

Mine was an '86 Astro my Dad bought for $100, put a tranny in, cleaned it out, painted it 1979 Ford Tangerine Orange (translation BRIGHT) and it lasted me through two years of high school and two years of college.

Next one was an '88 Astro for $50 that we put a $1200 refab engine in, did some body work, 15" Chrome smoothies, primed it but never got to paint it. Lasted 2 years in college and got pulled over for inspection-cop said get it fixed in two weeks or else...

Mom found a 2000 Blazer with 38K on it about 3 yrs ago for 1500 down, 180 a month at 6% interest. I have about 5800 left on it (originally 10K). Unfortunately I need to tend to the normal wear and tear before I can do any upgrades to it . Need ball joints all around, oil lines fixed, new windshield, and I sure would like a tune-up and flush/fill all major fluids since it's at 72K now. Just bought new tires and mistakenly put non-stock size back on: 235/75/15. No biggie, just a tad taller tire-but it's the opposite direction I want to go.

Ok that was a lot...how about you?

My first car was a 1987 Toyota Celica Gt. I bought the car off my ex girlfriends father for 1,500.00. It was a great car with a solid motor. I had the car for 2-1/2 years and then I gave it to my mom who ended up ripping the oil pan off the car.. [:@]Long story short she didn't pay attention to the sign saying road work ahead and hit a raise man hole cover.

'70 Chevelle. Purchased when I was 14. I rebuilt the motor & transmission as well as repaired rust in the floor before I put it on the road 2 years later.

Drove it for about 6 months(thru most of winter) then finally sold it for $200 more than I paid. Then shortly after I got my 88 Z24, after waiting for 1 for a LONG time.

1975 Chevy Monza 2+2 hatchback with factory installed 4.3 litre V8....was a pretty fun car...I thought it was fast at the time...lol....but now I know it was only fast compared to the 4 and 6 cylinder cars of that era.
