Ouch... That happened to me a while back, thankfully with cheap Nokia phones and not a smartphone. Now I make sure my butt is firmly planted before the phone comes out.

You could always try to open the case to make sure it is all dried out. I am not sure how hard or difficult it is to open up the phone. But if it is dead anyway you have nothing to lose. You should have let it dry out it the sun for a long while before powering it on. With electronics, if you can get the moisture out before powering on you have a good chance at not shorting any thing out.

Rice is the best way to dry out a phone. The raw, dry rice sucks all of the moisture out faster than anything else.

That sucks, man. My brother dropped his in a full cup of water once, and I blew compressed air in it, which saved the phone. Try blowing it out, the rice probably got most of it, but forcing any left over may help.

That stinks man. I'm guessing Verizon's famous "water marked spot" is lit red?

Hopefully everything works out for ya.
