Yes we get taxed twice on it, fuel tax and then VAT at 20%, we then have to pay road tax, at the moment that's £215 a year. Not counting insurance and our annual MOT (safety) test.
And we have massive potholes in our roads since winter.

Gas has been starting to drop, it is $3.79 here in the Pittsburgh area. I can find ways to pay for gas to get to work and food shop at least but not much after that.
