getting into photoshop

well i have a graphics design class this trimester and since feb. 18 i have been working with photoshop, kinda self taught, and the teacher helps me some. but ive never used it before this class. just thought id post up something cool i did today, basically you have two different smaller pictures that cover up the original background as an overlay and you get this cool blend effect. kinda neat and i thought you guys would like it

i used these two as the smaller pics, and they are cropped a little

Torrents, CS4 is good enough for me.

ill get the guys name, but i know a photographer who made some books teaching people how to take their pictures they shoot with any digital camera (the better the camera the better the results) and in like 10 easy steps that any monkey with a mouse and one eye poked out can do in about 3 minutes a step, end up with a picture fit for a magazine cover. i keep meaning to get one of his books and i forget his name at the moment, but tomorrow. i will remember i swear!
