That is very true, but those folks are very...um..."special" or so I've heard. Unless you're very dedicated, it's very difficult to brick a phone in my experience.

Actually, imo it's very easy to brick a phone. Just like a person installing firmware to their router. If something happens while the firmware is being installed, it will brick your router. Same for smart phones. While going through the process to root and/or put a custom rom on your phone, if something gets hung up or stalls, it can brick your phone. Also, trying to root on a low battery, a big no no. But a bricked phone can be reversed sometimes. Just depends on what has happened to it.

It's a software brick though. You get the stock ROM, reflash it and voila back to new. I meant permanent brick, as in totally useless.
I had my OG droid overclocked for a bit. Didn't really use it for anything I needed it to be OC'd for though, so I put it back. |

Basically overclocking a phone means making the processor work faster than the manufacturer allows.

im on the computer now. thats how i do this. my phone wont let me go on the blazer forum for some reason. or its just super slow loading. my phone is way glitchy.
either way i cant wait till i get my new phone. hopefully before christmas because i think it might be off sale after that. |
