Post your idiotic Driver Stories

lmao, WAAAY to many bad drivers out there, around here it's the soccer mom's in the dodge caravans you've gotta worry about though...almost lost my driverside mirror last night. She was turned right around in her van getting something in the back while we were doing about 75kph. I saw her turn around, then I watched her slowly wander towards me, finally she got within maybe half a foot of me when I realised she wasn't turning back around. I leaned on the horn, jammed on the brakes, and I've never seen anyone overcorrect so hard. She hit the curb of the centre island before she straightened the van out in her lane. She then proceeded to blow a red light, then at the next light where I caught up to her, she was up a silverado's ***. It was great because the truck had this huge "multi-ball" hitch, you know those receivers with like 6 different size ***** on them? Made my night. I was tempted to stay behind and tell the cop how distracted she was but I was late enough as it was for dinner with my girlfriend.
Believe it or not seeing as I don't have pics but hey, I have the satisfaction of knowing it happened

Almost brought a tear to my eye it was so beautiful. :P
BlazerChick, you remind me a bit of my girlfriend... hooked on trucks.
She's bugging me to drop a 327 GM crate engine in my blazer and I keep telling her if she pays for it sure!

I remind everyone of their Girlfriend lol. Not really, just thought I'd say that.
I could share how completely horrible the tourists are. I always make fun of them whenever I can. I work at the beach, but I live more inland. So I get to deal with the couples going, "Oh look Honey, the water!!! Lets go 20 under so we can take our sweet time looking at it even though there's a really big bridge up here that we can see 20 miles out. Oh and don't worry about that really big truck on our bumper, it's just a local trying to say hi... with her push bar."
Seriously, tourists suck. But at least I only have to deal with them in the summer... unlike the Marines... those A-holes are always driving bad, in their little pimped out sports cars or chromed out trucks... all big and bad at the stop lights messing around with the other cars.
And about the cops and cell phones. I swear every single cop around here is always on them. And if they aren't, they are parked 3 or 4 in a row talking to each other at the gas station. Those are usually the Sheriffs tho. They don't do anything around here. I've had one behind me with his Radar on (I've got a radar detector) so I decided to speed just to see if he'd actually do something... he didn't. Pulled right into the gas station. I've seen as many as six just sitting doing nothing but talking to each other, even had one come play paintball with me and some friends. The Troopers are the only ones that I see daily doing their job correctly.
There, I shared.

BlazerChick, your radar detector is next to useless unless you are hoping to burn just a bit of battery power that you had lying around. #1 it's range is less than the radar. #2 its worse than useless because most NC agencies have or are moving to Lidar with is more accurate and detectors don't notice it anyway. #3 by the time your dector tips you off, you have already been pinged by the radar, hence the "detecting". #4 just because you speed around a cop, they wont pull you over.
I hate police work. It sucks. you only see people at their worst. No one call the cops because a party is too much fun and there is too much beer to go around... But I hate people that drive stupid because a police vehicle is nearby even more...
Match speeds with a cop, or drive normally (7 over ish) and i will bet money nothing will happen. Don't got 10 over in a school zone while kids are trying to cross, or drive with 2 year expired tag and no insurance and then bitch at me because you're dumb though
Look, only new cops, and douche bag supercops pull people simply for speeding a little. When i was stuck enforcing law, 10 over got you sarcastically harassed via the PA, 15 over got you pulled and told to slow down, 20 over got you a ticket for 12 over, 25 over got you turned over to you chain of command at battalion level or higher to be wrecked by your superiors, and 30+ got you towed and arrested. If I speed, why shouldn't you *shrug*
Somethings can't be looked past like kids not buckled up, or not in a car seat, drunk driving, domestic violence, etc but a lot of crap is just a waste of time. Imagine pulling over every jackass that tossed a cigarette butt for littering, less than 25 lbs... c'mon. Cell phones are the same thing. Unenforcable in any meaningful way.
Oh and i agree, the Troopers are the most professional of the bunch.

I know a couple of cops, one of them being one of those "Super cops". Any modified car he sees he pulls over and he has fun with them, hell he has a pair of coveralls in his f-ing trunk... he nailed a guy for 2000 bucks once, N2O, no catalytic, modified exhaust, modified seat belts, non-street legal tires (drag slicks), fuel cell (for some reason, although they're safer they're also illegal)... the list goes on... it was a damn race-car so he did have reason to pull him over.
Like what ABN said though, if they pulled every guy over for having a fart can on their civic, or hucking a cigarette butt out the window we'd need twice the cops in this town and it'd be a waste of time. Somwhere while that cop is giving a kid a $200 fine for his fart can someone's blowing a red light, breaking into a house or mugging somebody.
Priorities is what it all comes down to.
We have the provincial police who are the equivalent of state troopers and they too are the most professional of the bunch next to the RCMP (our "FBI").

I live in the middle of nowhere. We can't afford Lidar lol, the Troopers and Morehead City probably have them... but not our Sheriffs and the Newport PD. My Detector usually picks them up before I can see them, not that they are going to do anything anyway. And the Detector is my dad's in the Jeep... not in my truck.
You are way more lenient than my Marine Corps MPs... I was escorted off base for going like 7 over and my license plate light was not working because apparently it was loose and not making connection. Of course it was like the one MP I didn't know... knew the guy that escorted me off tho... he came up to my window and stopped in mid introduction to say "Hi". I used to get all the dirt on people that got pulled over, but most of the people I know Lat-moved to something else.
