mmk so i haven't been on in a while.. i got my Blazer back on the road after it sat all winter.. and today was the first time I did some serious off roading with a bunch of friends. All together there was 6 of us.. maybe even a few more. Everybody was in a Wrangler except for me, my friend (Grand Cherokee), and some kid I dont know (Land Rover Discovery if i'm not mistaken). My Blazer hauled *** through all the mud and deep trenches completely stock =] My friend just got his 3inch lift, new rims, tires, etc. on his Wrangler and I made it through almost everything he was getting through =]

Here's a pic after we left. Not as muddy as i'd hoped.. but still good =]

There's a place called Suffolk Meadows. Its in Middle Island somewhere. I'm not sure on exacts because it was dark and I just followed. Wasn't really paying attention to the roads and such. Apparently there used to be a horse racing track there or something but that i'm not too sure of. There is a watch tower of some sort though you can climb which is supposedly where the judges would sit.

I know the place, they used to have car shows and swap meets out there. My question to you is, is it legal to go wheeling there?

Really just the beach with the right permit and for fishing only. If you are interested in the beach permit I posted info in the Off-Roading thread. I know some guys going some place further out east but I don't know if its legal there either. The closes places that I know of that are authorized are in PA. Rausch Creek and NJ. Whorton State Park or if you are feeling like a trip upstate NY Mettatowe ORV Park. It really does suck how we have some nice open areas and state owned land here but can't use it.

I'm gonna get the pass asap =] Haha. I personally think whoever owns the Meadows should open it up as a 4x4 park. We can buy year passes and just go whenever we want. They would make some good money and we'd have a place to go without it being illegal. Plus they could make some pretty sick climbs and obstacles back there too =]
