Trucks can be replaced. That being said, I think self preservation and safety should be the main concern and issue. I'm not advocating giving up on the truck which you worked and paid for but I would be looking for some other options.

Ok... I finally have access to the computer again. My dad has the truck chained up with lock and key to a trailer. I have the keys to the truck, but not the locks. He also has the cops scouring the neighborhood for it, that way if I pick the lock (he knows I can do that), the cops will have me in a heartbeat. I have the title hidden at a friend's house. You have some good ideas about the cameras inside businesses... I'll have to go around and take a look. I know the time and date of the chase. Problem is, the collision happened on a fairly empty street in front of a business owned by my dad's friend. This business is so cheap it's not even funny. The building is older than dirt, and I doubt it has cameras. Also, he went around and *persuaded* all the witnesses, so I'm practically screwed there. Also, this is a small town, so he is in good standings with all the cops, who say that he has every right to do that.

BUT- I have an ace in the hole! I got tricks up my sleeve. I have kept my teachers informed on nearly everything my parents have done up to last week, the last time I saw them before Christmas break. My friend's mother is going around and rounding up supporters for me, and I told her some teachers to get hold of. She says she is gonna press charges on him for the vehicular assault of her son, who was also in the car at the time, and saw everything firsthand. He nearly went into shock because of such a traumatic event, so I think we got a pretty good case. They say they have a court date on Monday, and that I don't even need to come. Anyone have any idea what will come of this? I mean, it's me, my friend, his mother and a bunch of teachers against all the cops in Sulphur, and nearly 6 persuaded witnesses. I really wanna come out of this alright because Dad has already chased me across the house kicking me so far. He even said he would kill me if I was gay, even though I'm not. He just randomly said that.

Look, all I want is out- I don't care if they're arrested or not, I just want to be put in the custody of my friend's family, or at least emancipated. However, the cops said that no judge in this county would give me that.

Another problem is the 3 strikes law- my parents kicked me out before and then reported me as a runaway, which is one of the many reasons the cops refuse to believe me this time. However, it also means that I have 2 strikes, and that the next time my parents kick me out, I'll go immediately to boot camp and become (quote) "property of the state."

What are my chances with this upcoming court date? Also, would my frantic 911 call (which I know for a fact is on tape) be any good if I could manage to get hold of it?

Also: I'm trying to get the pics up, but I can't yet.

Yes, that frantic 911 call would help you IMO.

Dad's going on a power trip now because he realized that the cops are corrupt. He just threatened to have someone arrested because she wouldn't go out to eat with him xD

But I am worried about the court date, though... Really, how much of a chance will I have with all these people of power against me?

You can only try and get something done... and unless your Dad is in good standings with the judge, it's pretty well his decision in the end. Also, if your lawyer is questioning you he can ask you all of the details... I.E. you witnessing the shop keeper tampering with witnesses that were there, and your buddy can back you up... Who should IMO show up with a freakin neck brace on. And you wear a shirt that shows off the marks on your neck from almost getting strangled by your father.

Sympathy is what you want, play it up so people feel sorry for your situation.

Lol... Same idea I had. My conversation on the phone shortly after the wreck:

Me: Hey Tim, are you ok?
Tim: Yeah.
Me: You're not hurt?
Tim: Nope.
Me: Can you pretend to be?

Probably not gonna happen, though, unless his mom sends him to the doctor and the doctor recommends a brace. If he's told the circumstances, the doctor will most likely recommend a brace

I just got some interesting information...

Dad was talking about pressing charges on my friend's parents for taking me in when I was thrown out. I wonder how this is all gonna go down, 'cause we sure are shaking things up with all these potential lawsuits.

It's getting old. Of course, if it brings and end to this Jim-Bob and Bubba police set-up, it will definately be worth it.

ADD: I GOT THE PICS FINALLY

This was the first pic I took- I took this just before they made me get back in the cruiser.

I barely managed to get the spare tire carrier to open so I could take this one.

I took this one after they took my baby back to their house. I didn't even get the honor of driving there. They chained the front end up to a mobile crane of some kind, using locks. Hopefully I can pick them later, but I hopefully won't have to.

I hope it goes well for you hoss, like oktain said, play sympathy as hard as possible, push that card as hard as you can without crossing the line.

If You tell this to the da (if you have one) you can get emancipated, granted it costs some money, i'd break my losses and pick up with a new truck as the road goes on, or being it is in your name and if they say you can't leave, sell it to someone who will treat it right, cut the tie to it and get out

It's a bad idea, but if someone treated me like that i'd have a molten hot branding iron ready to go when they get drunk on night and do some work

like me, Pat (oktain) likes to vent, but i'd be careful of just what you say to others (and here on the forum). the wrong words get thrown around, BS lies start to fly, and before you know it, you've got some ***-hat pokin' around your business, looking to prove the lies are the truth.

understand what i'm getting at? from experience, i can tell you an off-the-cuff remark, in the heat of the moment, can lead to a good hour and a half in the back of a cruiser, with a promise to appear @ the cop shop in the next 24 hrs for processing (never admit to the cop of any rearks he may not have been witness to).

play it cool, count to 5 (@ least) before you answer any questions in court, and you should do ok.
