"What! Gas is over a dollar! I'm not gonna pay those prices!" exclaimed my father when I first saw signs like this. And he kept his word by designing, and building his own propane powered Ford pickup. We drove that thing all over. Even on a trip from New York to Florida. To be fair, you could switch over to gasoline on the fly if you wanted to. Mind you, propane was super cheap at the time, and there was no road use tax since it was "experimental".

ARCO huh? Good ol' Atlantic Richfield... anyone remember the ARCO "Graphite" version of their motor oil? What a nightmare that crap was! LOL

I remember filling up my samurai for $10 in 95-96. Paid 6 bucks a year for registration because they didn't know what is was and called it a snowmobile.

Is that the joke, it's missing a . after the 1? lol...I guess none of us Canadians get it since our gas prices are ALWAYS displayed like that. All of our prices are displayed like "104.5" or "98.7".

zedartwo 01-06-2010 06:16 PM

Hmmmm. Is that really the joke?
