what motors will fit my 1997 GMC Jimmy 4x4?
I need to repower my motor and am looking into used engines.Anyone know what years are compatible for it?Does the motor need to be from a 4x4 ?Thanks for any help.Jaron

Check the Ford Explorer Forum LOL.
There is a difference in I believe the crankshaft sensor or cam sensor I can't remember but they won't interchange so you are limited to I believe 96-97. It doesn't matter if it is 2 or 4 wheel drive.
I think if you use the search you will find several threads on this subject. I know there are some because that is where I learned about the sensor differences.
