Your First Car
Mine was a 1975 Oldsmobile Starfire GT. Bought it with my own hard earned cash. As soon as I got it, I tuned it up, and gave her a new coat of paint. Two weeks into driving her, a Dodge Ram pickup truck blew threw an intersection and broad sided me totaling my car spinning it around 2 1/2 times before I came to rest on the far side of the road facing the way I had come from. I was dazed to say the least. I still have a scar and lump where something that was loose flying around in the car hit me upside my head. That was a short love affair. Rest in pieces Starfire GT.

Were they called Starfire's in CA too? Mine was yellow with the black stripes exactly like the pic above. I have Polaroid pics of it someplace in a box. My brother ended up getting a 1976 Starfire, non-GT model that had the same 231 V-6 in it, then he later bought a Chevy Monza (sister car), with the factory V-8. They were all crazy fast for the type car it was in. The Starfire's changed name to Firenza later on.
from what i remember (it was a while ago though) the Starfire had the name Firenza added as part of a package option (i think it was a suspension/performance package). in '81 or '82 they dropped the Starfire name, & were just called Firenza.
gotta agree with Alex though, Polaroid's? i thought my Mother was the only one that had any of those kickin' around still.
scan 'em & post 'em up if you find them.
In the US, the Starfire GT was the top package. The name changed later, but not because of different options. They were hoping to bring up sales.
My car pics could actually be Kodak Instant pics as we had one of those too... my dad retired from Kodak. As far as the Polaroid, these were the instant pics, not the old peel apart like I remember my dad having when I was little. I still used a One Shot Polaroid camera up till last year when I go to our sponsored school in Jamaica. We would take pics of the kids and then give them to them. I only stopped taking it because they stopped making film for it last year.
