69 Fastback and 69 Chevelle SS
The 69 Fastback was my daily driver and the
SS was for race, friend of mine pulled a 402 Ratt
from his Drag Rail and we put it in the SS ....
F@*k me running it was fast..and I remember
the Alcohol fuel burned my eyes first driving it....Lol

 

Bought one like this from my dad for $1,000. Rolled it two years later in a misunderstanding with a curve. Four people in it walked away, though.

 

Circa 2003, I was 15 years old and acquired a 1988 Isuzu Pickup to wrench on.

And boy did I ever think it was the bomb.com

Lowered in the front by loosening the torsion bars to the point where they were darn near completely unthreaded, 3 inch drop blocks in the rear, LITERALLY putting the axle on the rear bump stops at all times, there was NO rear end suspension travel... road just like you can imagine it would

Full tweed interior, but hey that was the minitruck'n thing to do back then

Rebuilt engine with a header, cam, and a Weber carb. Didn't get anywhere fast, but it was surprisingly reliable through high school

Ah those were the days...

 

My first "car" was a '71 Chevy K10 pickup. I wish I still had it.

This is the only picture I have that it's in. Ignore the hair. It was the 80s, lol.

 

1950 Buick Special - 60K mile creampuff I bought for $20 from my grandfather when I was 12. I had a track in the pasture. It lasted for a couple of years, but spun rod bearings immediately after I got my learner's permit when 14.

First car I really drove on the road was my 1968 El Camino. My Mom helped me buy it in 1971 when the Buick bit the dust (I did have to pay her back in cash while in high school - she never forgot about it). Idea was to drive it to school on an Iowa school permit, which allowed 15-year-olds to drive to school and back (nothing more). Unfortunately they did away with the school permits a couple of months before I turned 15. I was devastated. So I just drove to school anyway and never asked anyone's permission. In fact, I drove everywhere - not only just to school and managed to stay out of trouble (not sure how). I was a big kid and looked significantly older than 15.

 

My first car was a 1967 Buick Skylark... I believe it had a 300 cubic inch V8 with a 2 speed power glide tranny... What a site, powder blue with a white hard top with more dents and dings than I could count. That car was so ugly that if it were a person, it would have too sneak up on a glass of water just too get a drink My Dad bought it for me too learn how too drive. He paid $50 bucks for it lol!!! He said "son, no way will I get you started out with something nicer too look at since you will NO DOUBT be putting a dent or too in your first car"... One thing I will say, the car was one of the safest, most reliable cars I ever owned

 

1971 Dodge Dart Swinger. My parents got it off my uncle for $200 in 1984 for my brother and I. 318 2bbl carb and 3-speed AT. Damn that thing was quick. I used it for quite a few years through college and grad school. I would often travel over the passes on the Cascade Mountains in WA and OR and that thing could charge on up them like they weren't there.

 

1968 Oldsmobile 442 4 speed 455 cid.......That's what got me hooked on the Oldsmobiles.
