2000 jimmy 4x4 lowering
 

ok so i have a 2000 gmc jimmy 4x4. i plan on lowering it 3 inches in the rear (blocks) and 2 in the front (torsion). how should it look/ ride with 18's?

I'm not sure that you will be able to lower your truck that much if it's a 4x4. I could be wrong though. I know lowering 4x4's is way more involved and you can never get as low as with a 2wd.

It'd ride better if you got lowering shocks for the front after that... I've heard of lowering actually improving the ride quality of the truck, but then again, those were 2wd's.

I had 20s on my 96 Blazer 4x4 lowered 3"
For the ride quality, with new shocks its better than stock.
but after 5+ months the shocks went out (belltech nitro drop shocks)
I recommend Belltechs Street Performance shocks. Theyre bigger, better.

this subject was already discussed (just last month i think).

if you have already done this to your '96, why are you asking us? you should already know how it's gonna ride. as for how it'll look.............well i could spout off about many things, but i'll be nice.

first, you haven't told us what rims you're looking @ using (or even posted a pic for us). you didn't mention what rubber either.

if you're wanting to show off a build (mod) of your truck, wh not just post it in the "Builds" section?

personally, i don't understand why ayone would lower a 4WD truck, it's so much easier when it's 2WD. yes i understand that you already own the truck, and it's not easy to just go pick up another one for a new project-at least not for the majority of us anyways.

put up some other pic's of what you'e doing, we'd like to see what our fellow members are up to. Curtis, are you listening to this?..............sorry bud, that just came out, lol.

by the way, thanks for the info on the shocks. i had the Nitro's on my full size, and you're right, they don't last long. that, and mt truck was lower than what they're recommended for, which didn't help.
