99 Blazer 4.3 2WD
 

I recently lowered my 1999 Blazer 2WD by using 3 inch blocks in the back and cutting 1 turn on the springs. I had cut some springs on one of my previous cars but it feels alot different on the Blazer. The ride feels a little more tight and when i go over bumps it feels as if something scrapes on the bottom. Do i need to cut or remove bump stops in the front or in the back??

Ususally with 3 inch blocks people have to cut off the lowest bulb on the rear bump stop. Did it look like it was gonna bottom out when you let the axle down after it was jacked up? But I don't think that would make a scraping sound. Do you know where the sound is coming from?

It may be bottoming out in the wheel wells also. Anytime you cut springs the ride suffers so that is normal.

Yeah, it sounds like when you hit a bump it bottoms out on the stops. That should take care of any clearance issues. How does it feel at full turn?

it feels the same, only feels a little tighter on the handling. Should i take out the front bump stop completely or just cut a piece off?

also would it change the handling after it remove/cut the bump stop?

I would just remove the bottom bulb. Removing it should give more room so you don't bottom out. It will still be a rough ride lol. To have a smooth ride and be low you need to invest in drop coils and spindles.

thanks, Im going to be buying some drop coils soon. If i remove the front bump stop, won't it hit metal to metal when i go over bumps?

No, you would be giving it more clearance. Right now when you go over a bump you hear noise because the bump stop is for factory height. I would just take the bottom bulb off, drive it and see if its still bottoming out.

EDIT: sorry I was thinking rear the whole time. Take a look at your drive shaft to make sure its not rubbing
