i need help please
 

hi im new to this and i just recently got a 96 s-10 blazer rear wheel drive v and am looking into dropping it but i dont want to buy the lowering kit just want to know is there is any way of doing it without buying the kit... and if so how please i would love to know again im new to the truck scene so i will apreciate the help

There is always a cheaper way to do things, but I wouldn't recommend it. You mentioned that it's a rear wheel drive, so the cheapest thing there would be lowering blocks. There is nothing wrong with this approach, IMO.

The front coils could be cut, or heated, but I wouldn't recommend either of these. You lose ride quality, and it's very difficult to cut exactly the same off each side. As for heating the coils, you never really know how much strength you are giving up until it's done. You'd also have to buy shorter shocks for the front with this approach also.

I'd strongly suggest doing it right. A 2/3 drop can easily be performed with new spindles on the front and blocks in the rear. You'd keep ride quality, handling, and dependability.

For sure get a kit cuz it will save you in the long run. I lowered mine 2/2 and it was only 300. And im very tight on money but still was able to do it. Go with spindels and blocks.
