I WANT a lowered Blazer. Don't care about 4x4

So I drive a 4dr, 4x4, 1997 Chevy Blazer. My torsion bars are dropped as low as they can go and I have 3 in. lowering blocks in the back but I want it lower. I do plan on getting smaller tires probably 215's. But after I get the smaller tires what can I do to lower it more.

FYI, the first number isn't the height (235 or 215). It's the second number. You want a lower sidewall percentage. But unless you're going REALLY low, you'll still have tons of wheel gap with a smaller sidewall. There's only so far you can go lowering a 4x4 before you have to start cutting and getting crazy.

Alrighty...

if you backed your keys out all the way,you might be close to your bump stops on your control arms..Cut em off.

They make lowering keys to drop it a few more inches.

You might wanna find a nice body kit to give the illusion that its been dropped further than it actually has.

get a 2wheel and call it a day.

I don't have the money to but a 2wd and no one will buy mine in the condition its in, and im really not a fan of body kits. I've always hated them. Guess im stuck

1997 Chevrolet Blazer Lowering Kit | Car Stuff

170 bucks for the drop kit. This is your only option for a somewhat of a drop..

how far can you back the bolts out on the torsion bar ?

chris015 12-09-2011 08:56 PM

You can back em all the way out,but the ride quality will suffer (we both know ride quality sucks to begin with, but this makes it a tiny bit worse as i tried it.)

You also might ride on your bump stops on the front end. if you do you will have to slice em off.

By all the way out what do you mean? as in how far? does the bolt have to stay in there or does it completely come out? also how do I go about cutting off bump stops?
