Lowering a 4 wheel drive, or airbags?

is it safe to lower a 4 wheel drive?

how about putting airbags on one?

It is safe to lower a 4wd but only like 2-3 inches max any lower and you might as well have a 2wd. Air ride on a 4wd yes you can just have to do some fabricating to make some custom bag mounts for the front and the rear it all depends on how extreme you want to go.

lowering a 4x4

I also think it might depend where you live. I live about 200 miles NE of Gr81 and the snow was about 4-6 inches more than my clearance. I had to take a running start at some of the drifts to get through. Luckily, I did.

I live where it snows now. But the roads are all plowed from the snow, so I never have to drive over it.

Even cars drive when it snows.

Then you would be ok to lower it but honestly why not just get a 2wd and lower that and keep the 4wd for offroad fun and have the 2wd for cruising then you can bag it and be hittin switches.

Well the main reason is because the vehicle has been in the family for over 10 years.

It runs great and the only way to get money out of it is if we keep it.

I almost traded it for a 2001 blazer xtreme with 18's but the guy sold it too fast.

Also, we have three 4 wheel drive vehicles at the moment.

dang that's alot of 4wd vehicles, I would be looking to trade it again for a 2wd there easy to lower in a afternoon I love cruising mine.

I know. I've wanted a bagable 2 wheel drive for the longest time.

I had an 89 s-15 extended cab which was 4 wheel drive also. I prefer square body. It was 4 wheel drive and I couldn't lower it like I wanted.

My dad pretty much convinced me that I should keep it since we know what's wrong with it.

I argued that it would be funner to work on a "cool" tricked out vehicle.

Exactly but hey you could always put some loot to the side to save up for a 2wd square body for yourself there not that expensive from what I have seen plus to lower one of those is super cheap too.
