lowering blazer cheap??

Hey does anyone know how to lower a chevy blazer on the cheap? my giant sub :icon_speaker1: takes care of the back but my front is way too high

It's a 4x4 right? Why would you want to lower it?

In any case I know one guy who cut his coil springs in the front with a plasma cutter... I've heard of torching the front coil springs (weakening them, I personally wouldn't try) but both these methods are free.

I'm not really the guy to be answering this question but I'm sure packofqtips could point you in the right direction.

Do some searching through the forum too.

4x4 or 2wd?
2wd lowering springs are very cheap
4x4 can crank the torsion bars down for a 2 inch drop

and if you dont know how to crank your tbars just look up the DIY on how to crank tbars and just do the opposite and if your lucky you might even get 3" of drop from the tbars.

I wouldn't recommend cutting the springs...its pretty sketchy.

get low

depends on ride height and which blazer

I got a 99 w/ a 3-4 drop with springs, spindles, & blocks

had to do some adjusting (cut bump stops)
camber/caster

but it will eat ball joints quicker and tie rod ends unless you spend more $$$

flip the rear break hoses (or youll eat holes in them)

also watch out for lock to lock turns... it might pose a breaking problem in parking lots with the front breaks

pretty good sticky at blazinlow forum... search it

Crank your t bars down and im pretty sure you can use the rear drop from a 2wd kit ($150 from 4 Wheel Parts) Someone correct me if im wrong.
