Questions on lowering a 4wd
 

Ok, I am looking to lower my 4wd 4 door blazer, i was wonder what the easiest way(and hopefully the cheapest without ruining my handling and ride), since iwill be doing it myself in my driveway

i would like some sugjestions, not, "why lower a 4 wheel drive" it's my first car, i'm fixing it up myself, iwas looking for a blazer forever because i always liked them, and i found it for a good price, so, just help me out a little bit

i would like to lower it 2-3 inches

Cheapest is torsion bars and drop blocks. Next most expensive would be to include drop shocks in the mix. After that would be torsion bars and drop leaf springs (and drop shocks). After that would be to bag the front, then full on airbag suspension. Then c-notching which involves welding/cutting/etc. If you really want to get extensive you go the body drop route as well. Gotta be honest though, not a lot of 4wd lowered guys here. We mostly like to lift.

I lowered a Bravada 2" all around with drop blocks and backing the torsion bar bolts out. Not hard at all.

Thanks, well, i know that a lot of people look down on lowering a 4wd, but i'm 18 and i've had the car for about 6 months, my first car, got a good deal, so i got it, and i really love it. And i like to have the 4wd just in case, but i don't really want to raise it, my preference is the lower look. Can you tell me how the torsion bars and drop blocks work? Just a breifg description.

Backing the bolts off the torsion bars makes them untwist and therefore lower. Tightening the bolts would lift the front end.

Drop blocks go between the axle and leaf spring to raise the axle closer to the body thus lowering the truck.

You will need an alignment after backing bolts off/taking bolts out of the torsion bars.

Cool, doesn't sound like anything that i can't handle, thanks a bunch, i will probably do it once it warms up, but since it's below freezing everyday down here in WV everyday, i think that i will wate.
