So after all of the cb info I have searched you seemed to be involved and the most knowledgable about the topic. I have just a couple questions if you wouldn't mind helping me. First one is I am planning on picking up a cobra 29 and I want to flat/stud mount a 4 ft antenna firestik or k40 or similiar on the rear bumper end cap. I have read alot about grounding and SWR and all. This is a plastic piece so I think I would need a no-ground-plane antenna for this correct? I know its not the best position, but I will mostly be using this for trails and close range communication. I intend on buying good equipment. I may consider a different mounting point but I don't really have one since I have a huge roof rack that will soon be filled with accesories and I don't like the look of the antenna up there anyway. I also do want a mag mount I want something more permanent. Can you tell me what will be my best setup for this application. Thanks in advance for any help.
